Morgan Wellman

Morgan currently serves as a firefighter/paramedic for the Norwich Township Fire Department in Hilliard, Ohio. He has been a professional firefighter for twenty-four years and has previously served as steward, then Vice President for Norwich Township Firefighters Local 1723. He has a passion for helping others in their time of need and was certified by the ICISF in 2010 as a CISM team member. In 2017 Morgan was trained by the IAFF as a Peer Supporter so that he may further his knowledge and understanding in helping those he serves with. His ongoing education includes behavioral health, resiliency, and suicide prevention. Morgan has also completed the University of Central Florida’s REACT training. Morgan has personal experience with depression, anxiety, and alcohol addiction and is currently 16 years sober. As of April 2022, he became an alumni of the “Save-A-Warrior” program. “I believe that every individual has experiences that make them uniquely qualified to help others in their time of need. My professional service, training, and personal trials have helped me to gain a greater understanding of the stressors all of us face on the job and in our personal lives.” Morgan currently serves the OAPFF as Operations Coordinator of Peer Support for the state of Ohio and Fifth District Peer Team Coordinator. Morgan and his wife of 32 years, Missy, live in Plain City, Ohio. They have an adult daughter who is a registered nurse.
