Instead of basic self-care, participants will learn how to monitor their mental wellbeing after experiencing traumatic incidents, and build resilience, both individually and alongside their crew. Participants will leave with a clear roadmap to support post-incident recovery, strengthen their mental armor, and ensure long-term survival in emergency services.

Strong Minds, Strong Crews: Behavioral Health for Fire & EMS Officers
This course prepares Fire and EMS Officers to recognize and respond to behavioral health challenges within themselves and their crews. Participants will learn to identify signs and symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and suicide risk, and understand appropriate prevention and intervention steps. The program covers confidentiality expectations, chainofcommand communication, and the role of Ohio Revised Code 2317.023 in peer support interactions. Officers will gain practical skills in crisis intervention, active listening, conflict resolution, and stress management concepts. Guidance on effectively using employee assistance programs and peer support resources after traumatic events will be provided. This course helps prepare leaders to support a healthier, more resilient workforce.
